Conditions of Use
Resources and images available through the Portsmouth Public Library website are available for use in research, teaching, and personal use. You may reproduce (print or download) resources and images only with prior permission and acknowledgement of the source as the Portsmouth Public Library in all copies. Many Local History images are not in the public domain and copyright is largely held by the Portsmouth Public Library.Due to the poor quality of some yearbook photos, it has been difficult to scan all of them. However, the library has made every effort to scan all deemed possible. Some are still of poor quality for online viewing, and some could not be done at all. However, the hardcopies of the yearbooks can be viewed at the main library location in the Local History Department.
By using these resources and images, you agree to the following conditions of use: These resources and images may not be used for any commercial purpose, not be re-published in print or electronic form, nor downloaded to be published on another website without prior written permission from the Portsmouth Public Library Local History Department.
Copyright Restrictions
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies and other reproductions of copyrighted material. A library or archives may upon request—for purposes of preservation, scholarship, or research—reproduce, distribute, display, or perform in facsimile or digital form a copy of the work or portions of the work. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a request if, in its judgment, the fulfillment of that request would involve violation of copyright law.
