Article About Dr. G. S. B. Hempstead who was a pioneer of Scioto County. Hempstead was born in 1794 and died in 1883. He dedicated much of his time to archaeology and drew maps of local Indian Mounds.
Bottom: The Gaylord Elm was named to commemorate the Gaylord Rolling Mills, Levi D. York, and York Place.
