Description
Black and white photo image of Kricker Building at 815 Gallia Street, Portsmouth. Built by George Kricker in 1893 facing Government Square, (the Esplanade) it held a bank, grocery, Portsmouth City Offices, jeweler, business college on the third floor, and various other businesses. It was also known as the city building, The Coggswell Lion and water fountain visible in this photo were put in place in 1884. The Esplanade was then known as Fountain Square.
