Description
Metal shoe button hook engraved "Anderson Bros. Portsmouth, Ohio" with no engraving on reverse side. George W. Anderson operated several shoe, clothing, and dry goods businesses from 1874 until his death in 1895. His son, William, established the Anderson Department Store at the corner of Third (3rd) and Chillicothe Streets from approximately 1900 - 1932. Sears Roebuck Department Store was later located at the site.
